Microbiologist

Nanordica Medical is an Estonian medical technology company established by scientists and medical doctor, a spin-off of the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics, Estonia. We developed a Premotiv® nanotechnology that prevents infection and promotes wound healing simultaneously. Our first product, Premotiv® wound dressing, allows faster cure of wounds such as for example diabetic foot ulcers that do not heal and are often infected, leading to sepsis and amputations.
We are well-funded and are looking for microbiologist to perform microbiological tests as well basic physico chemical characterization tests with developed wound dressings and prototypes of the new products.
Expected competencies:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
Practical experience working in a microbiology laboratory, preferably at least class 2 biosafety lab.
Ability to perform tests in accordance with standards and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) as well as develop modified test protocols tailored to the company's needs.
Very good knowledge of English.
Accuracy, pro-activity and problem-solving mindset.
Experience with microbiological quality control, sterility testing or medical device/pharmaceutical microbiology is considered an advantage.
Your main work duties will be:
Planning, performing and documenting microbiological testing (such as for example microbial growth inhibition tests) and physico-chemical analysis (such as atomic absorption microscopy) of wound dressings and their prototypes.
Supporting the development, validation, and optimization of microbiological methods.
Maintaining laboratory records, equipment, and quality documentation.
Participating in quality control activities and ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures.
Contributing to product development and scientific research activities.
Supporting regulatory and technical documentation of wound dressing prototypes (class 2b / 3 medical devices) with microbiological expertise.
