Nanordica Medical featured in the Next Web’s Deeptech report
Sep 2024
The Next Web has published an article on Estonia’s growing deeptech sector, highlighting key startups driving scientific innovation. Nanordica Medical is featured among them for its work in nanotechnology-based antibacterial wound dressings.
The article outlines Estonia’s goal of reaching 500 deeptech startups by 2030 and the increasing investor interest in science-driven businesses. Nanordica’s technology, developed at the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics (NICPB), combines copper and silver nanoparticles to improve wound healing while minimizing side effects.
The company has already completed a pilot clinical trial, showing twice the healing speed compared to standard silver-based dressings. A larger clinical study is planned, with EU regulatory approval expected this year.
